My professional life of more than 30 years as a consultant is mainly linked to two companies: NEHEM and G. Lugtigheid & Co

Nehem International b.v.
In 1973 I joined the newly estabished Netherlands Restructuring Agency NEHEM. It initiated and implemented as the national agency with a catalyst role in Dutch industrial policy many sectoral development projects.
In the mid eighties I started to develop NEHEM's international consultancy activities with a major assignment of several years for developing business co-operation between Dutch and Indonesian companies focused at the agro/food cluster.

In the early nineties our international activities moved to the new market of Central and Eastern Europe with its many multilateral and bilateral programmes supporting the transition towards a market economy.

Since 1995 many assignments were done in the Middle East, especially in Egypt in the Private Sector Development Programme and later on in the Industrial Modernisation Programme.

Meanwhile Dutch industry policy had changed, which resulted in the privatisation of Nehem Consulting Group into a commercial consulting firm. As from 1998 I continued in my private company G. Lugtigheid & Co b.v. together with two partners the international consulting activities as Managing Partner in Nehem International b.v.

G. Lugtigheid & Co b.v.
G. Lugtigheid was founded on March 29, 1930 as the small insurance company "N.V. Maatschappij tot Verzekering tegen Ziekte en Ongevallen van Rundvee, Paarden en Varkens" (Insurance Company for Disease and Accident Risks of Cattle, Horses, and Pigs) . My family acquired the company in 1954 and further developed its insurance activities, which activities eventually were sold during the extensive concentration and merger process of the seventies, which in the end resulted in a small number of very large insurance companies.

Since 10 years G. Lugtigheid is the vehicle for my international consultancy activities. Depending on the assignments I am either operating directly through Lugtigheid or indirectly as associate partner of Nehem International.
